Meijer’s Accomplishments at LendingTree

Rams Meijer spent nearly five years with LendingTree, where his talents and accomplishments were quickly recognized. His first position with the online lending marketplace was as General Manager, responsible for credit cards and student and auto loans. He was promoted to Vice President, General Management Operations and later to Senior Vice President, General Management Operations for all of LT’s lending marketplace businesses.

With LendingTree, Meijer was responsible for $700 million in annual revenue and carried ownership over the P&L, business strategy, operations, and execution. The LendingTree Marketplace includes ten business lines (auto loans, business loans, credit cards, credit repair, debt relief, deposits, home equity, home purchase, home refinance, and personal loans) and six brands (LendingTree, CompareCards, DepositAccounts, MagnifyMoney, SnapCap, and ValuePenguin). He successfully delivered strategy for each business by leading core vertical teams consisting of General managers, Product, Sales, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, and Tech.

Meijer also led the efforts on Ovation.com’s exit and brought other acquired brands closer to the leading LendingTree brand. He also delivered a long-term strategy for business loans and drove improved conversion in the company’s credit card vertical.

As Senior Vice President, most recently, Rams Meijer’s majority focus was on business loans, personal loans, and debt relief to deliver a positive financial impact to the overall Tree P&L with quarter-over-quarter acquisition growth.

During his time with LendingTree, he assisted in negotiating and signing business development partnerships with Acxiom, CNN, Google, MSN, Equifax, Experian, Transunion, and Bulldog Media.

His Work at Expedia Group

Before joining LendingTree, Meijer worked at Expedia Group for six years in several key roles, with his last position as General Manager of North American brands (Orbitz, Travelocity, and CheapTickets). His brand campaigns for Orbitz were forward-thinking, ranging from “Just Like That” to “Travel with Pride” to “Santas in Santa Monica,” “National Spoil Your Dog Day with Orbitz,” “It’s a Great Big World,” and others.

Meijer’s career trajectory and success with Expedia Group were similar to his success at LendingTree, as reflected by his three promotions in six years.
